The Journey Museum Hosts the Unveiling of “Tinker”

Lynn Jackson and the Journey Museum are proud to showcase “Tinker” the juvenile Tyrannosaurus Rex discovered in South Dakota.

RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA, OCTOBER 2021  — The Journey Museum will be hosting a reception at 222 New York Street, Rapid City, South Dakota,  on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 5 p.m., featuring the unveiling of “Tinker” the juvenile Tyrannosaurus Rex discovered in South Dakota.

The attorneys at Lynn Jackson played a large role in the legal battles surrounding the extraction of the remains of baby “Tinker.” Because of their role in protecting these fossils, Ron Frithiof of Austin, Texas, the man who discovered the skeleton of the teenage Tyrannosaurus Rex has gifted a mold of the remains to an educational institution of Lynn Jackson’s choice. The South Dakota law firm was happy to contribute to the discovery and donated the mold to the Journey Museum.

Attorney Tom Fritz recalls the 1998 legal fight well. “There are trials and cases that attorneys face in their careers that are so memorable. The case of ‘Tinker’ is one of those unforgettable cases.” Bringing Tinker home to South Dakota is exciting to all involved in this endeavor. “Having the opportunity to bring more of South Dakota’s history to the Journey Museum is beyond exciting,” explains Executive Director of the Journey Museum, Troy Kilpatrick. “There’s something about dinosaur fossils that brings out the child in everyone. Adding these replicas to the Journey Museum will not only educate children in the area but bring them joy.”

The reception and unveiling of “Tinker” are open to the public. Lynn Jackson and the Journey Museum encourage the community to witness history in the making.
