Haven L. Stuck

Haven Stuck is a long-time member of Lynn Jackson’s business and real estate teams. He specializes in real estate and business transactions and disputes, as well as banking and financial services, land use and zoning, and natural resources and agricultural issues. He is licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts in South Dakota.
Haven was raised in northeastern South Dakota and obtained both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from South Dakota State University in 1968 and 1972, respectively. Between obtaining those degrees, Haven served as an officer in the United States Army. He obtained his law degree from the University of South Dakota in 1975, and joined Lynn Jackson that same year.
Haven is an AV-rated attorney, and has been named a Great Plains Super Lawyer®, as well as one of the Best Lawyers in America® in several areas of law, including administrative/ regulatory law, banking and finance, business organizations, corporate law, land use and zoning, real estate and tax law, and natural resources law. In 2020, he was named Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in America® for his work in administrative/regulatory law. Haven has served as a board member and chair of a number of organizations in the Rapid City and Black Hills Area. He is a member of the Public Policy Committee of Elevate Rapid City and a member of the Rapid City Planning Commission. He is also a member of the South Dakota, Pennington County, and American Bar Associations.
Haven and his wife Terri have 2 grown children. They have spent time in numerous countries on all seven continents and enjoy operating their ranch, scuba diving, and skiing.
