Jason is a fifth-generation South Dakotan and native of Rapid City. In 2006, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude from Chadron State College. After several years of working with juveniles and juvenile justice, Jason entered law school at the University of South Dakota School of Law. He graduated from law school in 2016 with high honors, and was one of only seven students in his class to earn the prestigious Order of Barristers for exceptional skill in oral advocacy and brief writing.
Following law school, Jason was awarded consecutive judicial clerkships; first with the Honorable Patricia Devaney in Pierre, South Dakota, and then with Iowa District Court Chief Judge, Duane E. Hoffmeyer, in Sioux City, Iowa. While serving as a judicial law clerk, Jason researched and reviewed hundreds of issues raised in legal briefs and appeals, and also assisted in drafting opinions on a multitude of civil and criminal cases.
Jason joined the litigation practice group at Lynn Jackson in 2019. In that capacity, Jason represents clients involved in personal injury, commercial, and construction litigation. In addition, he works in the area of family law, assisting clients in all stages of divorce, child support, adoption, guardianship/conservatorship, and premarital matters.
When Jason is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and exploring the Black Hills on his mountain bike and skis.
