Having practiced extensively in South Dakota, Richard Dale has 40 years of legal experience in no-fault arbitration, personal injury litigation, and insurance coverage. His expertise includes: insurance defense, subrogation, appeals, and trial work.
In the past, Richard has worked for East River Legal Services in Sioux Falls, as well as serving as in-house counsel for 27 years for a national insurance company. In addition, he spent nearly six years in the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office in Pierre, primarily handling criminal prosecutions and appellate work. Richard has tried cases to juries in South Dakota and Minnesota, along with having been involved in appeals to the appellate courts of South Dakota, Minnesota, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Richard completed his undergraduate degree at Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, and his law degree was awarded at the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama. Since then, he has been admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, Minnesota, South Dakota, the U.S. District Court for South Dakota, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Throughout his career, Richard has handled general civil matters, criminal prosecutions and personal injury defense. With this varied experience, he is able to thoroughly represent his clients while providing expert advice.
