Born, raised and educated in South Dakota, Michael L. Luce is a veteran litigator with over 35 years of experience in his home state. His areas of expertise include: commercial, personal injury, employment and discrimination, products liability, construction, professional liability, insurance and alternative dispute resolution.
With substantial experience, Mike has tried over 100 jury cases as lead counsel to verdict and has had an active appellate practice, having argued over 60 cases to the South Dakota Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mike graduated from the University of South Dakota, Law School in 1977, and since then, has practiced law for three firms in Sioux Falls. He is a past Diplomat and President of the South Dakota Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a member of the Second Circuit Bar Association, the International Society of Barristers and the American Bar Association.
Mike has previously served as the Director of the South Dakota Trial Academy, educating young lawyers on trial skills. His distinctions include being named to Chamber’s USA America’s Leading business Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, Cambridge Who’s Who Among Executives and Professionals “Honors Edition” and Martindale Hubbell’s Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers (Civil Litigation).
