Erika S. Olson joined the Lynn Jackson law firm in its Rapid City office in 2017 after ten years as a shareholder with the law firm of Wilson, Olson & Nash, P.C.  After graduating from the University of Wyoming College Law, Erika worked for the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office as an Assistant Attorney General in the Water and Natural Resources Division, representing the Wyoming State Engineer’s Office and focusing on water law and administrative law.  In 2006, she returned to the Black Hills to practice law with her father, James W. Olson at Wilson, Olson & Nash, P.C. prior to Jim’s retirement in 2017.

Erika’s practice includes real estate, business planning and organization, water law, probate and estate planning, and guardianships.  She works with individuals, families and entities to help them resolve title issues, sell and privately finance property transactions, drafts covenants and easements, plan for succession of family and business assets through the drafting of buy/sell agreement, wills and trusts, and wrap up loved ones affairs after they have passed away through the probate process and trust administration.  She believes that good planning can provide peace of mind and prevent expensive and stressful litigation.

In her spare time, Erika plays bassoon with the Black Hills Symphony Orchestra and served on its board from 2010 – 2013. She enjoys exploring the Black Hills with her husband and her greyhound.

I have worked with Erika Olson on two different real estate issues. In both cases she was professional, persistent, patient, and tactful.

In one case a beloved family cabin with seven different owners was successfully sold. In another case a boundary dispute with a neighbor was resolved without litigation.

I would highly recommend her.
